Even though the first day of winter is upon us, Prescriptives has just released their new spring colors! Are they on the same calendar as the rest of us? If you are already tired of turtlenecks and fuzzy sweaters, maybe these fun new shimmers and pastels will make you feel like it's April. The spring collection has 8 new eyeshadow colors, 4 new blush colors, 6 new lipstick colors, 2 new shimmer lipglosses, a metallic gold liner pencil, and 3 new cream shadows called "Eyelights". The "Eyelights" are very similar to Origins' "Slipcovers" and H2O+'s new cream shadows. I had the pleasure of trying the Yellow/Orange shadows "Buttercup" and "Foxy", as well as "Pretty Tan" blush and the "Golden" lipgloss. The lipgloss is very shiny and perfect for the current shimmer trend, but the eyeshadow colors weren't anything special, and the blush was just not my color. I can't remember that last time I blushed in "Tan". If you happen to be at Prescriptives, check out the new colors and see what *you* think. While I'm on the subject of Prescriptives, many of you have read my review of their Virtual Skin foundation, and my commentary on the accuracy of Prescriptives' Colorprinting system. The latest installment of this on-going saga is that I was colorprinted yet again, and this time I am a yellow/orange, not a blue/red, red, or red/orange as I have been printed before. I think yellow/orange is the right one, but I can't help but feel frustrated with the whole process. Which one should I believe? My best advice about Prescriptives is to go with your gut instinct. If the makeup artist says you are a blue/red, but you know that foundation is just too pink, don't stand for it! And by all means don't buy something you know is the wrong color for you. Okay, I'll get off my soap box now! In happier news, I just finished a week of testing Aveda's Cherry/Almond Bark conditioner, and it was terrific. For those of you with dry, coarse, flyaway, frizzy, or just plain unmanageable hair, this conditioner would be a great everyday choice for you. If your hair is also fine like mine, just be careful not to use too much. For finer hair it also makes a great intensive weekly treatment. Another great find this week was the first quick dry clear nailpolish that I have ever seen actually work! If you hate waiting for hours for your nailpolish to dry, check out "Ozone" quick dry topcoat from Urban Decay. This stuff dries to an incredible hard finish in under 5 minutes! No kidding! We're almost at the end of December already, and that means another Cosmetic Connection Beauty Pack drawing. You've got until the 26th to be eligible for this month's drawing, so what are you waiting for? Just sign the guestbook and you're entered. Winners will be announced in next week's report.
